Day 3 - The Intrigue Begins

The infernal one known as Eric of Ebola has dared to cross the canton of his own proposed truce in what appears to be an effort to cordon me away from the Tower of Tyrants! This treachery shall not go without repercussions! Minion, bring me the blood of the minion who failed in assessing the resources required in the acquisition of the praetor so that I may quench this burning desire for revenge.
How delightful a position this places me, Krampus!
New chart of fun:
Krampus' Hatred List (Not to be confused with the Threat List):
Eric of Ebola: +1
Neighsayer Matt: 0
James: 0

Exit Character
The above internal monologue occurred to me upon viewing the outcome of Turn 2. Eric and I's agreed upon buffer area was observed by me moving well clear of the Garden of Eden. Eric however moved to touch the top of the Garden, clearly violating his own proposal; which made me wonder if I was violating the truce in his eyes. So, here is what I think happened, Eric meant the space to the left of the Garden of Eden, he tricked me and now touches the Garden, or he moved to this space to block my advancement against the City of Tyrants.
The issue becomes how to handle this. The best course will be to capture the City of Tyrants, look in Eric's character sheet to see if his +30 at the end of the game is based on holding the Garden, throw an insult at him, declare a vandetta and capture the four cantons leading to his house, isolating his legion in the tower area.
Now the question becomes, what is Eric doing. Will he try to capture the City of Dis? This would require totally going through the buffer area, giving me more reason to insult him. We are going to blood feud.
I called Matt to ask him what happens if I move and then Eric moves into a Canton controlled by me, knowing full well that if Eric moves to the Tower of Tyrants that he would be blocked. I did not want him to be ex-communicated, that would not make this game all that fun for him or me. The bad part is that I talked to Matt, who may seek to develop a larger bond with Ebola and tell Eric of this plan, thereby giving Eric pretense to move toward City of Dis. If Eric is blocked, then he loses a turn essentially.
The game is smiling upon me by giving me first move prior to Eric. Things worked according to plan so far, I would say even better. With resources in range, I should be able to touch the Tower of Tyrant's, hold Eric and I's buffer zone as a bargaining chip, and circle back for the City of Dis (to not capture it, but stare at it longingly until I acquire the right resources).
Turn Goals:
1. Acquire Resources (3 Souls)
2. Purchase Praetor
3. Capture City of Tyrants
4. Insult Eric of Ebola or Capture City of Dis
5. Watch Matt capture Iron Staircase
6. Watch James

The great thing about this game is that it reminds me of how explicit you need to be in laying down rules in diplomacy. When things fall apart, what do you do? I get really serious about diplomacy, actions, and opponent analysis.
